About NERiMA

NERiMA is a Toronto and Durham Region–based pop punk and alternative rock band known for its emotionally charged sound, energetic performances, and self-described “punk rock for pessimists” identity. The group blends elements of emo, pop punk, and alternative rock to create a style that feels both nostalgic and modern, drawing influence from early 2000s punk while maintaining a distinctly current edge. Formed by a collective of musicians including Lexi (vocals and rhythm guitar), AJ (lead guitar), Simon (drums), and Cooper (bass), the band brings together diverse musical backgrounds to form a cohesive and dynamic sound. Their music often explores themes of self-doubt, emotional conflict, relationships, and personal growth, balanced by strong melodic hooks and fast-paced instrumentation designed for high-energy live shows. Releases such as the EP Kiss Your Shadows and more recent work like All My Mistakes have helped establish their presence within Ontario’s independent music scene, gaining attention through both streaming platforms and live performances. Songs like “BAD ENDING,” “Fester,” and “Reverence” showcase their ability to combine raw emotional lyricism with punchy, anthemic choruses.
